If you are arrested you should have a lawyer. N​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​ot everyone arrested is guilty.  Even if the charges are valid, a lawyer can get the charges lowered or get you a better sentence.  A lawyer may prevent you from getting a criminal record.  A lawyer may keep you out of jail.
